Two Week Vacation for Yoga for Healthy Aging

One Open Door, One Closed Door by Marie Lossky
(@Marie.Lossky on Instagram)
We'll be taking two weeks off this year: the weeks before and after Christmas. Yes, we're taking our own advice and will be resting up after a long year of writing a Yoga for Healthy Aging book (due out next fall!) and keeping up with the blog.

See you next year!

Video of the Week Dynamic Dropped Knee Lunge

This mini vinyasa is an excellent way to stretch the psoas and front thigh muscles of your back leg. So it's great for anyone who sits a lot during the day or who has a stiff back, or for hikers, bikers, and runners, too! It's also a good way to warm up for backbends.

Filmed at Feathered Pipe Ranch, Helena, MT.

Video of the Week Fledgling Eagle

This new balance pose is a sort of prequel to classic Eagle pose (Garudasana). The Fledgling Eagle will be a welcome relief for some and a new challenge for others. Eagle can be challenging for those with knee and ankle issues, so if you have issues in those areas, watch this video through once before trying the pose.

Video of the Week Put Your Boots On!

This pose is inspired by the "Take Your Boots Off" balance pose that Melina Meza taught when she subbed for me while I was away last week, as well as by my own experience going through TSA about four times in the last ten days with my fall boots on. Here's a practical balance work for the fall/winter season.
